While EMPOWERTRANS was routinely executing transmission line and substation projects for state power undertakings like Odisha Power Transmission Company Ltd (OPTCL), its track record in the speedy execution of difficult Transmission Line Projects had slowly spread to other parts as well, and not unsurprisingly, the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) - the state power undertaking of Tamilnadu, chose EMPOWERTRANS for its dual 230 KV and 110 KV Transmission Lines in the Madurai and Trichy regions, basically to serve the respective AIS substations.
Previously, EMPOWERTRANS had ventured till Andhra Pradesh in the South, for executing its projects, moving over from adjoining Chhattisgarh. However, the acquisition of the project from TANTRANSCO was an important landmark, as it had come from a state transmission agency, and that too, further down south.
Working in unfamiliar locations with unacquainted agencies always poses a first time challenge. Moreover, the contract with the customer contained some very stringent completion and commercial conditions as well, besides being an overseas funded project, with additional conditions imposed by the overseas agency. However, not to be overawed by the very stringent completion schedule, as well as the other conditions imposed by the overseas funding agency, EMPOWERTRANS went ahead and put in all its superlative efforts to make its first foray down south a resounding success, as acknowledged by the satisfied customer as well.
Another positive factor that emerged from the execution of this financially stringent project was EMPOWERTRANS’s capability in managing funds even under severely skewed cash flow conditions.
